Confirmation
At the time of Baptism, a child is welcomed into the faith of the Church. Parents answered for their child, accepting the obligation of teaching and sharing the faith. Confirmation presents a new reality. Each candidate speaks for him or herself. The candidate professes both his/her Christian maturity and willingness to serve others. Confirmation strengthens what Baptism began. It is a great step in a lifelong commitment to Jesus Christ and His Church.
Confirmation is a two-year program for students in public, private and Catholic schools. (Click for the Religious Education program.) The goals of the program are to develop community and help students develop life-long prayer habits that will be part of their faith life. Confirmation candidates will attend all classes and liturgical activities, including the Confirmation I and Confirmation II retreats. In addition, Confirmation II students will complete faith journey materials with their sponsors or parents, have interviews with a member of the pastoral staff and complete ten hours of service.
Adult Confirmation 2010 Adults who have received Baptism and Eucharist but who are not confirmed and wish to be, are invited to register for Adult Confirmation. Call the rectory to register and/or to request additional information—schedule to be determined. Bring baptismal certificate to the first meeting. Confirmation is April 8 at 7:00pm. Pass this information along to anyone for whom it may be relevant.
